Sophie Sydoriak, R.N., M.A.

I am a Registered Nurse with over nine years of experience providing mental health care to adults. I hold Bachelor’s degrees in Nursing and Psychology from the Université de Montréal and a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from McGill University. I am currently completing the supervised clinical hours required for my psychotherapy permit with the Ordre des psychologues du Québec (OPQ).

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of supporting individuals facing a wide range of emotional, psychological, and life challenges. These experiences have shaped my belief that meaningful change begins within a trusting, compassionate, and collaborative therapeutic relationship. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to explore their experiences at their own pace.

My approach is individualized and grounded in evidence-based practice. I draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed approaches to tailor therapy to each person’s unique needs, strengths, and goals. I have also completed specialized training in Reconsolidation Therapy (Brunet Method) for the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

I believe that therapy is not simply about overcoming difficulties, but about fostering self-understanding, resilience, and lasting personal growth. Whether you are navigating a difficult period, seeking greater clarity, or hoping to create meaningful change, I look forward to working alongside you in a way that feels supportive, respectful, and authentic.
